STOP THE HYPOCRISY!

FIRST KHUTBAH

إنَّ الْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ, نَحْمَدُهُ, وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ, وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ, وَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا, وَسَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا

مَنْ يَهْدِهِ اللَّهُ فَلاَ مُضِلَّ لَهُ, وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلاَ هَادِيَ لَهُ,

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ اِلَهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَهُ، شَهَادَةَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مَّقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا.

 وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ سَيِّدَنَا محَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ الْمُتَّصِفُ بِالْمَكَارِمِ كِبَارًا وَصَبِيًّا.

 اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُوْلاً نَبِيًّا، وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ الَّذِيْنَ يُحْسِنُوْنَ إِسْلاَمَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلُوْا شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا،

 أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَيَا أَيُّهَا الْحَاضِرُوْنَ رَحِمَكُمُ اللهُ،

 اُوْصِيْنِيْ نَفْسِيْ وَإِيَّاكُمْ بِتَقْوَى اللهِ، فَقَدْ فَازَ الْمُتَّقُوْنَ.

قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى :

إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُمْ نَصِيرًا

Indeed the hypocrites will be in the lowest reach of the Fire, and you will never find any helper for them (TQS an-Nisa’ [4]: 145).

Ikhwani fiddin a’azzaniyallahu waiyyakum,

Faith in Allah with true devotion, because with devotion that will save our lives in the world and in the hereafter. Taqwa to bring blessings from Allah and disobedience will bring wrath from Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.

Hypocrisy is a despicable behavior. In many of His verses, Allah SWT never mentions hypocrites except in negative / bad meanings. Some scholars divide the hypocrites into two. First: i’tiqâdi hypocrisy. The perpetrators are basically infidels, but pretending or presenting themselves as Muslims solely in order to deceive Allah SWT. This type of hypocrisy is placed at the lowest level of hell, as His word:

إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ فِي الدَّرْكِ الْأَسْفَلِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَنْ تَجِدَ لَهُمْ نَصِيرًا

Indeed the hypocrites will be in the lowest reach of the Fire, and you will never find any helper for them (TQS an-Nisa’ [4]: 145).

Second: hypocrisy in deed. The culprit may be Muslim, but has the characteristics of a hypocrite. In this case the Prophet said

آيَةُ المُنَافِقِ ثَلاَثٌ: إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ، وَإِذَا اؤْتُمِنَ خَانَ

There are three signs of hypocrites: if he says, lying; if promised, deny; if given the mandate, betrayed (HR al-Bukhari and Muslim).

First character: Deceit / deception is stated as one of the characters of the hypocrite. That shows that lying is a big sin. The Prophet peace be upon him. said:

 إِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ وَإِنَّ الْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ

in fact the lie leads to evil and evil that leads to hell (Hadith of al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Second Characteristic: The promise of promise is the hallmark of the next hypocrites. The hypocrites like to promise, but also like to deny their promises.

Third trait: The betrayal of trust is a feature of the third hypocrite. Allah SWT denounces this treacherous attitude:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْخَائِنِينَ

Certainly Allah likes not the treacherous (TQS al-‘Anfal [8]: 58).

When explored the number of hypocrites, this is due to the fruits of secularism and the application of democracy. Since the beginning the people who applied democratic politics have carried out ‘transactional politics’. In ‘transactional politics’, interests are certainly the main factor. Because it is not strange that many people who jump into the arena of democracy become hypocrites. After being elected as the ruler, for example, many of them proved to be broken promises. They issued many policies that harm the people. Whereas before they came to power, especially during the election campaign period, they promised to prosper the people. Previously they also portrayed themselves as defenders of the common people and loved the people.

In addition to breaking promises, they also often change trust. Among the forms of betrayal of trust is corruption. there have been many officials caught in corruption, not to mention those who have not been caught. And this spread to all levels of society. Even though it is clear, corruption has been forbidden in Islam as an act of deceiving the people and abusing the mandate. The Apostle peace be upon him. said:

مَنِ اسْتُرْعِيَ رَعِيَّةً فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ لَهَا غَاشٌّ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ

Siapa saja yang diminta mengurus rakyat, lalu dia mati dalam keadaan menipu rakyatnya, Allah mengharamkan surga bagi dirinya (HR Abu Dawud)

True democracy stems from secularism. This secularism is the source of the problem of the emergence of various hypocritical behaviors. Because, secularism from the beginning refused to interfere with God (meaning: religion). In the context of Islam, secularism is clearly a belief and attitude of nifq. As a result, secularism has given birth to hypocrites, especially among rulers / officials and representatives of the people. Isn’t the name hypocritical, claiming to be Muslim, but does not want to be regulated by Islamic sharia? Isn’t the name hypocrite, claiming to be a servant of Allah SWT, but rejecting His rules? Isn’t the name hypocritical, claiming the Qur’an as a way of life, but its laws abandoned? Isn’t the name hypocritical, claiming to be Muslim, but supporting infidel leadership? Isn’t the name hypocritical, claiming to be Muslim, but behaving corruptly which is actually forbidden by Islam?

Let us stop all hypocrisy, right now. However, certainly as long as it continues to apply secularism to democracy as one of its pillars, hypocritical behavior, especially among the rulers / officials and representatives of the people, will never diminish, cannot be eliminated. This problem is only possible to overcome when this nation implements Islamic sharia as the best system, as the almighty Allah says:

أَفَحُكْمَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ يَبْغُونَ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ

Do they then seek the judgement of (the Days of) Ignorance? And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm Faith. (QS al-Maidah [5]: 50).

As the best system, Islamic sharia must certainly be applied thoroughly in the best governance system. That is the Khilafah ‘ala Minhâj an-nubuwwah. []

بَارَكَ الله لِي وَلَكُمْ فِى اْلقُرْآنِ اْلعَظِيْمِ، وَنَفَعَنِي وَإِيَّاكُمْ بِمَافِيْهِ مِنْ آيَةِ وَذِكْرِ الْحَكِيْمِ وَتَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُمْ تِلاَوَتَهُ وَإِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ العَلِيْمُ، وَأَقُوْلُ قَوْلِي هَذَا فَأسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ العَظِيْمَ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْم

Second Khutbah

اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ عَلىَ إِحْسَانِهِ وَالشُّكْرُ لَهُ عَلىَ تَوْفِيْقِهِ وَاِمْتِنَانِهِ. وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ اِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَاللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أنَّ سَيِّدَنَا مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ الدَّاعِى إلىَ رِضْوَانِهِ. اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وِعَلَى اَلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيْمًا كِثيْرًا

أَمَّا بَعْدُ فَياَ اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِتَّقُوااللهَ فِيْمَا أَمَرَ وَانْتَهُوْا عَمَّا نَهَى وَاعْلَمُوْا أَنَّ اللهَ أَمَرَكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ بَدَأَ فِيْهِ بِنَفْسِهِ وَثَـنَى بِمَلآ ئِكَتِهِ المسبحة بِقُدْسِهِ وَقَالَ تَعاَلَى إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلآئِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّوْنَ عَلىَ النَّبِى يآ اَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ آمَنُوْا صَلُّوْا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوْا تَسْلِيْمًا. اللهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمْ وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِناَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى اَنْبِيآئِكَ وَرُسُلِكَ وَمَلآئِكَةِ اْلمُقَرَّبِيْنَ وَارْضَ اللّهُمَّ عَنِ اْلخُلَفَاءِ الرَّاشِدِيْنَ أَبِى بَكْرٍ وَعُمَر وَعُثْمَان وَعَلي وَعَنْ بَقِيَّةِ الصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِيْنَ وَتَابِعِي التَّابِعِيْنَ لَهُمْ بِاِحْسَانٍ اِلَى يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ وَارْضَ عَنَّا مَعَهُمْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ

اَللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَاْلمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَاْلمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَاْلمُسْلِمَاتِ اَلاَحْيآءُ مِنْهُمْ وَاْلاَمْوَاتِ اللهُمَّ أَعِزَّ اْلإِسْلاَمَ وَاْلمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَأَذِلَّ الشِّرْكَ وَاْلمُشْرِكِيْنَ وَانْصُرْ عِبَادَكَ اْلمُوَحِّدِيَّةَ وَانْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَ الدِّيْنَ وَاخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَ اْلمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَ دَمِّرْ أَعْدَاءَ الدِّيْنِ وَاعْلِ كَلِمَاتِكَ إِلَى يَوْمَ الدِّيْنِ. اللهُمَّ ادْفَعْ عَنَّا اْلبَلاَءَ وَاْلوَبَاءَ وَالزَّلاَزِلَ وَاْلمِحَنَ وَسُوْءَ اْلفِتْنَةِ وَاْلمِحَنَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ عَنْ بَلَدِنَا اِنْدُونِيْسِيَّا خآصَّةً وَسَائِرِ اْلبُلْدَانِ اْلمُسْلِمِيْنَ عآمَّةً يَا رَبَّ اْلعَالَمِيْنَ. رَبَّنَا آتِناَ فِى الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى اْلآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ. رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا اَنْفُسَنَا وَاإنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُوْنَنَّ مِنَ اْلخَاسِرِيْنَ.

 عِبَادَاللهِ ! إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِاْلعَدْلِ وَاْلإِحْسَانِ وَإِيْتآءِ ذِي اْلقُرْبىَ وَيَنْهَى عَنِ اْلفَحْشآءِ وَاْلمُنْكَرِ وَاْلبَغْي يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُوْنَ وَاذْكُرُوا اللهَ اْلعَظِيْمَ يَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوْهُ عَلىَ نِعَمِهِ يَزِدْكُمْ وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرْ
